About Buckminster Farm

Cook & Gardener Mary Ann Kristiansen

A Warm Welcome to You

Buckminster Farm is a small farm that offers a haven from hurry.  Our 28 acres include hayfields, forests, extensive gardens and happy chickens.  The focus here is on slowly and surely building solid foundations.  That includes soil health that nurtures healthy plants and healthy people and gardens that will provide beauty and bounty for generations.  It also includes building relationships that are equally solid and nourishing.  This is not a production farm - we offer the bounty of the farm in season and as available.  Whether you become a subscriber and customize a mix of products and services or go a la carte and take a class, plan a restful and creative stay, design or redesign your garden, or treat your houseplants to Good Dirt, we hope the creativity, simplicity and beauty of this way of life will help you slow down, find peace, and enjoy life.

Workshops & Events

Making, Baking & Learning in Community

The simplicity and beauty and joy of this way of life can be learned!  Workshops are most generally limited to six participants which keeps the chaos down and helps build solid and nourishing relationships - even if just for a few hours.  Workshops can be scheduled for small friend groups - a minimum of four - and can be customized.  What do you want to learn or do in community?  Let me know.

We are available for cooking sessions at your house or mine if you are looking for more creative or streamlined solutions for tasty meals.  Whether you are an experienced cook or just starting, sometimes simply having an appointment allows you to have fun and have food.  We can customize a recipe and shopping list for the session.

Plants for Sale

My Favorite Plants Grown in Re-Mineralized Soil

The key to growing healthy plants is to simply give them good soil and good growing conditions.  The same mineral mix we use for our Good Dirt for houseplants goes into the beds here, too.  The right nutrients and growing conditions make fruits and vegetables tastier and more nutritious and all plants more vibrant and vigorous.  Perennials are available spring and fall when conditions are best for digging and transplanting.  If you don’t see a plant on the list, please ask.  We grow a wide variety of easy, vigorous plants.

We are also available for garden consults if you want to get started or are looking to improve design, efficiency and/or soil.
