Buckminster Farm

About Buckminster Farm

Cook & Gardener Mary Ann Kristiansen

A Warm Welcome to You

Buckminster Farm is a small farm that offers a haven from hurry.  Our 28 acres include hayfields, forests, extensive gardens and happy chickens.  The focus here is on slowly and surely building solid foundations.  That includes soil health that nurtures healthy plants and healthy people and gardens that will provide beauty and bounty for generations.  It also includes building relationships and sharing skills that are equally solid and nourishing.  We offer cooking, gardening and business/nonprofit consulting as well as workshops and events to share practical homesteading skills.  We hope the creativity, simplicity and beauty of this way of life will help you manage your meals, gardens or businesses better as well as slow down, find peace, and enjoy life.

We invite you to scroll down to the blog: Notes From the Farm and to sign up for our newsletter

Get Creative With Work

As it turns out, ‘at work’ is rarely a good place to get foundational work done.  If you need a peaceful place to really focus on a project, a strategic plan, or sort through a sticky challenge or enticing opportunity, Buckminster Farm offers a beautiful, quiet location and skilled and experienced nonprofit and for profit business coach to help you successfully work on your next step.

$150 per hour for coaching.  $500 for 4 hours/half day.  Half Day Entrepreneurs are invited to stay onsite a night prior or night after at no cost to focus on your project.  Upstairs apartment with separate entrance, bathroom, bedroom, sitting room, mini-fridge and electric kettle (no kitchen).

My Favorite Plants Grown in Re-Mineralized Soil

The key to growing healthy plants is to simply give them good soil and good growing conditions.  The same mineral mix we use for our Good Dirt for houseplants goes into the beds here, too.  The right nutrients and growing conditions make fruits and vegetables tastier and more nutritious and all plants more vibrant and vigorous.  Perennials are available spring and fall when conditions are best for digging and transplanting.  If you don’t see a plant on the list, please ask.  We grow a wide variety of easy, vigorous plants.

Garden, cooking and Entrepreneur Circle clients are invited to a free "Dig Day" spring and fall and can dig as many plants as they'd like based on availability.
